Sustainable Design
Buildings account for 36% of total energy use, 30% of raw materials use, and 12% of potable water consumption in the United States.  At Hamilton + Aitken, we recognized the immediate need to address this resource consumption in every project we design.

Sustainable design is a continuum of choices: from a project’s inclusion of low-cost green design elements to a client’s commitment to cutting edge solutions.  H+A can work with you to identify those choices that make sense for your project, your budget, and the image you want to create with your next project.

The Principals of our firm are LEED Accredited Professionals with the sustainable design expertise to achieve your sustainable goals. We have designed several school projects according to the Collaborative for High Performing Schools initiative, and currently, we are designing a new Laboratory building which is planned to achieve a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver rating.
